2012 Mission Road Racing Dates Released.

The Sports Car Club of B.C. has just released their race dates for the 2012 season.  There will be 5 Confederation of Autosport Car Clubs (CACC) race weekends consisting of 2 races per weekend for a total of 10 events that will make up the CACC B.C. Championship for formula cars and sedans. In  addition there will also be 2 International Conference of Sports Car Clubs (ICSCC) race weekends with the September 1-3 (Labour Day) weekend being a double race weekend. Formula Fords visit Chilliwack’s Greg Moore (Kart) Raceway

by: Felim Power On Sunday Oct. 16th, 2011, Alan McColl and I took our racing cars to the Greg Moore Raceway in Chilliwack to put them on display and do some promotion of the Formula Ford class. We received a very warm welcome from the West Coast Kart Club executive and the kart racers. There was a lot of interest and questions about the cars and the class. In addition to a static display, we were invited to run our car for a few laps around their track during the lunch break. Brad Smith swaps Van Diemens

Having recently sold his 1981 Van Diemen RF81, Brad Smith has acquired a very sleek looking 1994 Van Diemen RF94 to replace it. He purchased this new car in Ottawa and had it shipped out to the Lower Mainland. According to Brad, the car is resting securely in his garage as he begins the process of going over it thoroughly and planning his updates. He advises that it has some unique features, as it was originally a Zetec 1800 car. 2011 Race Season Draws to a Conclusion

Now that the 2011 season has come to an end, it is time to congratulate the champions. First overall in the Confederation of Automobile Car Clubs (CACC) Formula Ford Championship is Alan McColl of Abbotsford, B.C. in his 1977 Tiga. Of the 8 CACC races held this year at Mission Raceway’s River’s Edge Road Course, Alan won 6 of them. He also finished first in the International Conference of Sports Car Clubs (ICSCC) Club Ford race at Mission on June 19th.
